Our adorable miniature schnauzer, Maia, is the most loving, sweet and intelligent dog that I have ever known. Everyone who meets her immediately falls in love and even our trainer, who has trained 40,000 dogs in her career, tells us that she is honestly the smartest and quickest learning pup she's ever trained. Maia completed all three levels of training before a year old and received her Canine Good Citizen title at 11 months old. Soon, we'll start working as a therapy dog! Maia is truly loving and eager to please. Any trick we want to teach her, she learns immediately. In the past week, she's learned how to skateboard and push a doll's shopping cart while walking on her hind legs. Agility and flyball are definitely in our future! Maia is something of a celebrity and everywhere she goes, she spreads happiness, love and smiles.

My Poodle Pea Jae is a very special dog. I was very depressed because my family had died and I didn't have children so Pea Jae became my family. I can't tell you the number of days that I didn't want to get out of bed. Every morning he would bark and bark until I would get up. Then every day at lunch I would take him riding it made my day and his. He is always glad to see me and his birthday is the same day as my mothers. I didn't know that when I bought him. He is my heart and I do think he is the reason I can go on. Thanks Tricia

We got TomTom last year at CARA, a local no kill shelter. Once TomTom was home and visited the vet it was discovered he had food allergies and a thyroid condition. His hair started to grow and has not let up since! He is the center of attention everywhere he goes! TomTom has such a sweet personality and smiles all the time. Turns circles when he is excited, and without teeth, even small children aren't afraid of him!!!! He is so special to everyone on his "birthday" we are having a public birthday party to benefit CARA and all the friends he left behind there.

Einstein showers us with kisses from the moment we wake up in the morning until we put him into his bed at night. From homework to laundry (see photos), Einstein always makes the boring stuff easier to bear!

Sharon Osbourne Murr (the blond poodle mix) was an unexpected little miracle dog. Sharon had experienced horrific abuse at the hands of her previous owner, so when she came into my life she had heart worms, a heart murmur, two types of intestinal worms, a kidney infection, and perhaps the worst of all, post traumatic stress disorder. The vet gave her less than a year to live, but I pushed for treatment. She bravely took two shots straight into her heart and weeks of pills and rehabilitation. Sharon beat all odds and in a few months she got a clean bill of health, and has been happily playing with my little pekingese, Ozzy Osbourne, now for 6yrs! They are the happiest, cutest, doggie couple in the world, always running after bunnies and squirrels side-by-side. Sharon loves watching Ozzy while he swims, then cleans him from head to toe with her licks, as they snuggle on the sofa. It's my honor to give her the happy home she deserves, and Ozzy and I are blessed everyday with her loving kisses and cuddles! If we were to win the gift card, my furry heroes would be sure to benefit! Thank you for letting me share Sharon's story with everyone.

Here are my two babies Mimi and Casey, all they want to do is love you. Casey the black and white one is like a little person when you talk to her she tilts her head as if she is saying " Your kidding me".

This handsome boy, named Hero, saved the white dog, Buddy's life on repeatedly. Hero gave Buddy love, fun and a reason to live. They were best friends. Sadly, in March of this yesr Buddy, suddenly passed at age 4. Buddy had a short but very happy life. He suffered through heart surgery, and having back surgery. Through all these roadblocks, Hero remained by Buddy's side and was his Hero.

How can you not love this face! His name is Indy. He's a loveable goofball who loves to play and loves to be around his family. We just love his endless energy!!

Our puppy, Sir Lancelot, or Lance (for short), is the most loving, cutest canine around. He was rescued from a puppy mill in southern Ohio. He and his siblings were going to be euthanized because they had not been adopted while they were younger puppies. We adopted Lance from a family that rescues dogs like Lance from puppy mills. Lance got another chance. Everytime I look at him I can't believe that his life may have been so much shorter. He is 7 months old now and is a joy to have as a member of our family. He shares his love with the three family cats, too.

My pet is the best because he is forgiving of all humans, great and small. Chance was a rescue puppy, strait from death's door. He was originally sold to a pet store, and became the cute little puppy in the window. Chance was the only pup in a litter of one, and had no idea of what play was. It was noticed at his age of six weeks, that he kept walking into walls, and seemed lost and confused. The breeder realized that his prized money-maker, a yorkie-poodle mix, was possibly blind. The pet store agreed to have the pup checked, and his disability was confirmed. The breeder then agreed to surrender any monetary rights, and have him euthanized if nobody wanted him. As fate or in this case, Chance would have it, one of the clerks at the pet store came over to the vet clinic where I work, and explained the situation to me. But before she could finish, out of her arms jumped a two pound ball of fur and energy, and that was all she wrote. I didn't see a blind puppy wiggling around on the floor trying to feel his way around. I saw a friend for life. A frisky companion who would compliment my furry family of cats and rabbits. This little puppy forgave the unknowledged humans, and un-timely circumstances of almost not seeing his first birthday, which was celebrated by all in April of this year. Chance has become a shinning star in my moonlit sky, and will forever be my happy ever after rescue from above.

This is Robin. I got her for xmas last year from my daughters. I am disabled due to cancer, and without Robin I don't know how I would cope on a daily basis. When my daughters are gone to school and work, and I'm alone at home Robin is my companion. She lifts my spirits, she picks me up when down, and most of all she does the one thing I thought I'd never do again - LAUGH. She is truly my furry little angel.

this is sammie he is about 5 yrs i am not sure though, sammie is the best doggie ever! and i got him from a family they had saved him from behind a walmart or sams club so thats how he got his name , sammie is the best he never has accidents in the house he always goes up to me when he needs to go out to pee or poop and he sits and shakes , whenever i go to the store and i come back he barks at me in excitement that im back to him and sammie is such a smart dog he will watch family guy all day if he could and he listens to everything i say even if he hates getting in the bath tub he is a good boy and jumps in pouting :D but in the end he feels better and clean sammie is the best dog in the world and if he wins the 100 i promise it will all go for his favorite food which is turkey and vegetables in gravy thank you ! sammie loves u !

My Shiba Inu, McKenzie, is the best dog because she is better than any human. The only mood swing she knows are "love" swings. W/out fail every day, she runs to each fence that adjoins ours and "talks" w/the dog(s) in that backyard. In return, she is met w/snarling, snapping, fence attacking mangy Chihuahuas. I doubt she even gets a "good morning" in w/the incessant yapping. However that does not deter her as she returns every day for the same abuse. Working in my home office, she will sit a few feet away and stare and stare and stare like a love struck admirer in junior high. If I fail to take her for a car ride or walk, she holds no grudges and still showers me w/kisses. If I chose at a seconds notice to do something or go someplace, she is ready in a split second. I am a goddess to her in her world. You would never receive that kind of attention, love, and devotion from any human!

Chloe is a rescue we adopted a few months ago. At only 3 years old, she already had 4 litters in a puppy mill. Since her 5th litter only produced one puppy and it was a female, they dumped Chloe and kept the poor pup. She was shuttled around a lot before ending up at in rescue where they treated her infected ears and severely brown and yellow teeth. We were lucky to be chosen by this sweet little Boston Terrier. Despite having been horribly mistreated and exhibiting signs of physical abuse (5 cesareans, missing teeth, and some apparent smacking on her little head) she is the sweetest and most trusting little girl. We can’t imagine how anyone could be so cruel to such a loving and sweet little face! She is a pleasure to come home to and it’s a treat to watch her personality develop and clown around. She keeps us in stitches and for this reason, to us, she’s the best dog in the world!

My 1 yr. old Canaan, Izzy is definitely the best dog in the world! I got her as a 9 wk. old puppy March 2008, to be my emotional support dog. Izzy has gone far beyond just being for emotional support. She and I are inseparable. At night, she sleeps in my recliner next to the window and protects me. I am a double, below the knee, amputee, and Izzy makes me feel very safe and secure. She has to have hugs and kisses constantly and throws fits if I leave home without her, which is very rare. She is very comical at times and we play fetch daily in the house. She just doesn't want to give up the toy for me to throw! Izzy has definitely been a blessing for me and I'll never be lonely. She is my best friend.

My cat Tangy Potato (he is orange like a Yam) is the bestest in the whole wide world. I once was thinking about buying a "snuggie" but once he moved in there was no need as he is always in my lap. Best of all, he a "rescue cat" we saved him from the pound.
